Girish belongs to this rich tradition of Hindustani Classical Music which was pioneered by late Ustad Abdul Karim Khan Girish is a Disciple of Pandit Firoz Dastur, who in turn is the disciple Pandit Sawai Gandharva. Thus, he has been fourth generation singer of this gharana, which is very famous for its meledious & soulful singing.
