Prof. Stephen Slawek is distinguished musicologist and Sitarist trained by Pandit Ravi Shankar. Pandit Aninto Chatterjee is amongst the foremost Tabla Maestros Of India. This Cd presents concert recordings made between 2004 and 2007 on the campus of university of Texas at Austin. The Gat in Kaushi Kanada is Prof. Slawek's own composion & both Gats in Kirwani are the compositions of Pandit Ravi Shankar.
Pandit Anindo Chatterjee is an Indian tabla player of the Farukhabad gharana school. He was born into a musical family. Chatterjee is a disciple of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh. Inspired by his uncle, Pandit Biswanath Chatterjee, Anindo Chatterjee began playing tabla at the age of five. Studying briefly with Ustad Afaq Hussain Khan of the Lucknow Gharana, he advanced to studying under Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, with whom he studied for three decades. The recipient of the prestigious President's Award in 1970.
