This recording has been specially released to commemorate the birth anniversary of Vasant Achrekar. LateVasant Achrekar was the favourite accompanist of many eminent musicians. His clean, crisp and powerful playing was the special attraction of many concerts; this is one of them. Listeners should note that this is not a studio recording; we have recovered whatever was presentable. As such, there might be sudden breaks. Please remember that these were there in the original recording. Nevertheless, the quality of available material is certainly that which brings you the flavour and ambience of the live concert. This recording has been made available through the good offices of Shri. Atul and Subhash Phanse, in whose house the concert was held & also to the son of Vasant Achrekar, Shri. Suresh Achrekar, who is striving to keep his father's memory alive.
