Ustad Abdul Rasheed Khan Saheb is a senior most performing Artist of Hindustani Classical Music in great tradition of Mian Tansen. He was born in 1908 in a family of great musicians tracing Back to the great exponent of Gwalior Gayaki, Ustad Behram Khan. His initial grooming was by his father and uncle Bade Usuf Khan Sahib. He is equally versatile in presentation of Khyal, Drupad, Dhamar, Thumri etc. His delineation is attractive based with the purity of Raga and all performance are always embellished with melodic and rhythmic excellence.
The special features of khan sahib’s Gayaki are his resonant and deep mellow voice with commendable control and resilience over three octaves even at the age over hundred.

He is an excellent composer under pen name - RASAN PIYA, creating more than two thousand compositions rich with lyrics of literacy values. Some of the valued compositions have been recorded by world famous B.B.C London and Iraq radio, and more than 1500 compositions have been recorded and preserved by- U.P. Sangeet Natak Academy, Lucknow and ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata.
