Anything For You Ma'am is a love story, a majority of which is set on a train going from North to South India. The protagonist is Tejas Narula, a third year student of the Mechanical Engineering Department in IIT Delhi. He has fallen in love with his sister’s best friend, Shreya Ahuja, who is a smart and beautiful girl. Unfortunately, she lives in Chennai.
In Anything For You Ma'am, Tejas is willing to travel all the way to Chennai, though this could jeopardise his final year project and career. Furthermore, he indulges in lies and malpractices in order to dupe his parents and teachers, so that he can take off to Tamil Nadu. However, fate is not really on his side. Professor Sidhu is determined to stop Tejas from getting on the train.
The protagonist’s train ride is every eventful and certainly entertaining and humorous. Readers will see how Tejas meets different types of people who are his co-passengers on some parts of his journey. In Anything For You Ma'am, the author beautifully describes the geographical changes that Tejas witnesses while moving from North to South of India.
Raheja’s descriptive and witty writing makes this book engaging and fun. Anything For You Ma'am, published by Rupa in 2011, is available in paperback.
