We find stories about women everywhere. Starting with the epics Rāmāyan and Mahābhārat, our literature is full of female characters. Some of these women are barely mentioned by name, and especially in Rāmāyan and Mahābhārat, even the very important characters are not properly emphasized. This book is most certainly not just a discourse or arguments made citing from the history, research or other references. This is the story of a woman who has something to say, a woman who wants you to know her story, her feelings such as you must have felt yourself, her emotions in which you can perhaps see your own reflection. Whether you are a woman or a man, the intensity of your feelings may be different. The feelings themselves are unlikely to be any different. ‘Draupadi’ is a translation of Kaajal Oza Vaidya’s vastly popular book ‘Draupadi’ originally written in Gujarati.
