Prattyush Banerjee is a true twenty-first century musician who has been successfully multi-tasking as a performer, music composer and arranger as well as an instrument designer. He is "taking sarod playing to the next level" and has also created its first electronic version, the jyotidhwani. He was initiated to the art of sarod playing at the tender age of eight by his engineer father, Late Prasun Kumar Banerjee. Later, he trained under Shri Samarendra Sikdar. Subsequently, for almost thirty years now, he has been under the coveted tutelage of the internationally celebrated maestro, Pandit Buddhadev Das Gupta.
