This is the true tale of a terrible journey, soaked in blood and tears, that the author undertook from Karachi (then in Pakistan) to Benaras via Delhi in 1947, the fateful year of the Partition of India. The book narrates the gory events through which he had to make his way during this perilous journey from Karachi to the Indian border, which lasted for ten days. The account is factual, unbiased and objective. The book gives the reader a firsthand account of the hellish sufferings the Hindus had to go through during that traumatic period. In particular it commemorates the memory of those Hindus who were mercilessly massacred by crazed Muslims in the small border town of Bahawalnagar on August 26, 1947.
