He took help from his father and also added some material from already written similar books. The book was originally named as “The Sea Cook: A story for the Boys." lt was initially published in the Young Folks Magazine in seventeen episodes and was later compiled into a novel. The story is about a boy named jim whose father was an Inn owner. An old sea pirate lodged in their inn and died of a stroke. jim took out a map from the chest of the pirate and gave it to the Squire and Dr. Livesey. This is when the actual treasure hunt started and the voyage begun.
